AREAS OF COUNSELING PRACTICE
Individual
Individual counseling addresses the specific needs and goals of the client. It is a time for self-reflection in an environment that cultivates trust and transparency. The emphasis is on symptom alleviation, enhanced self-awareness, personal growth, and creating healthy coping skills to navigate life’s challenges. Areas of focus include: depression, anxiety, self-harm, grief and loss, anger management, relationship issues, mood disorders, trauma and abuse, and spiritual and personal growth
adolescent
Adolescent counseling is where individual and family therapy unite to provide the optimal care for the client. The complexities of the Middle and High school years can leave both teens and their parents grasping for a life line. These are the years of personal, physical and emotional transformation. It can be overwhelming for teens to manage academic demands, peer pressure, relationships, social media, friendships, sports, college applications, and their family in healthy ways.
Erin Marie desires to help teens navigate their current life stage by creating an environment of trust, compassion, and acceptance. By empowering the client to take ownership in their personal growth, we can create pathways to self-acceptance, emotional regulation, enhanced self-worth, and healthy coping skills to navigate life stressors. Areas of focus include: bullying, body image, self-harm, emotional dysregulation, depression and anxiety, relational conflict, grief and loss, trauma and abuse, sexual education and sexual identity
family
Family counseling can be a great way to help individuals and the family heal. The needs of your family can be addressed by identifying communication patterns, revealing unspoken expectations, and assessing conflict resolution skills. Erin Marie believes an environment of trust and compassion is essential when creating pathways to forgiveness, improved patterns of relating to one another, and to achieve a sense of togetherness. Areas of focus include: conflict resolution, boundaries, communication skills and navigating life after divorce.
